Thanksgiving 2015

We had another wonderful Thanksgiving over here, and I hope you did as well! The weather was beautiful, we had a house full of people we love & lots of yummy food on the table. So much to be thankful for!

We had three types of turkey this year, the turkey trifecta! Brandon fried one in our beloved turkey fryer, his boss who joined us for dinner cooked a smoked turkey & my mom made a traditional roasted turkey. So much food, and even better, so many leftovers! The candied pecan sweet potato casserole was a huge hit, I almost didn’t make it as I was running out of time, but Brandon’s eyes lit up when I mentioned it, so I couldn’t back out! 😉 We also had another friend join us from London, she taught Harper all about the queen during dinner & her accent made it feel like a scene straight out of Love Actually.

Claire wasn’t quite old enough to try turkey this year, but she did get her very first taste of sweet potatoes (before I added all the sugar & nuts and all the other good stuff). This is only the second food she has tried, and is still figuring out the whole spoon thing, but overall she seemed to love them! Harper & Eloise were mostly excited for dessert, their little teepee crafts we made earlier in the week & mini pumpkin pies covered in whipped cream.

Thanksgiving quickly faded into Christmas after a late night of leftovers & snuggling up on the couch to Christmas Vacation. We wandered over to the Christmas tree farm first thing Friday morning, skipping all of the Black Friday shopping & chaos, grabbed some donuts & picked out a tree. And before we could even hang lights on it, the kids parked it right in front of the tree for most of the day.

It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Stop it! Those girls are so cute! I have two (2.5 and 6 months) and they don't exactly get to play together yet, but seeing your girls makes me excited about the future. We want to have a few more, so that last picture especially kills me! Thanks for sharing!
