Sprinkler Weather

With all of the end-of-school year happenings, dance class & swim lessons that seem to never end, we can say more now than ever that we are living for the weekends. During the week, I sometimes feel like I live in my car, picking up and dropping off and running an errand or two, I know you feel me. So when the weekend rolls around with weather this good, our girls are taking major advantage of having a grassy back yard. We have this old sprinkler from our last house that we mostly used to water the grass, but it puts out an insane amount of water & the girls are obsessed with it! I think it’s safe to say that no matter how busy a season of life, everyone should make time to run through a sprinkler. Or at least watch your kids do it (because damn it’s cold). The minute these girls wake up, they are rummaging around in their closets looking for swimsuits, they have had them on most mornings before they even come in our room & I have a feeling it’s going to be like this every day for the next few months!

Last week, I woke up to the sound of the girls whispering (in their swimsuits) in the kitchen. I came out to find them packing their own lunches for school. I opened Harper’s lunch box to find exactly what I normally pack them, a few slices of deli turkey, carrots + hummus, a string cheese & an applesauce. And in Ellie’s, a box cake mix, two candy canes, her milk and a baby bib. End of the year lazy lunch packing at it’s finest! 😉

Hope you are getting a little sunshine wherever you are, sprinkler weather is almost here to stay!

Hahaha that’s so funny about Ellie’s lunch!!! Middle children truly are one of a kind!! Mine has me on my toes literally all day long, whereas my oldest is so content coloring for hours or watching a show. Such a difference!!

And sprinkler days are the best! Glad you guys are having fun!!

I love Ellie’s idea for lunch! I’m so excited for it to warm up enough here to break out the sprinkler!

My girls love the sprinkler too. We have a little kid one with pink flowers, but they totally prefer the same big one that goes back and forth. I’m loving this hot & non-humid weather we’re having!
PS – I recognized your other half and girls at swim lessons on Sunday. That was pretty weird!

I love Ellie! Her and my Haddie girl would get along famously. Box cake mix and candy canes, sounds about perfect. And yes something about sprinklers, little pools and water balloons that keep my girls going all summer long!

They also surprised US with an Easter egg hunt around the house with recycled Easter eggs filled with hand written notes and coupons to cash in for hugs, compliments, etc. How did we get here?!
