Essential Oils for Spring

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we love essential oils & use them all day, everyday for just about everything. With Spring just around the corner (give me all the fresh flowers + sunshine!) I thought I would share a few of the ways we are using oils in our home for this season.

Cleaning // We use Thieves Cleaner + Lemon essential oil for almost all of the cleaning in our home. Thieves cleaner is a concentrated cleaner that we add a capfull of to a 16 oz. spray bottle and use for all of our kitchen & bathroom surfaces and it has replaced all of the other surface and glass cleaners in our home! We have a white porcelain sink & white quartz countertops (hello, stains!) so any time we have a coffee or wine stain, I will mix up a soft scrub with 2 tbsp. baking soda, a capful of Thieves Cleaner & a few drops of Lemon oil to wipe them away super easily! This same mixture, with a cup of hot water, makes an amazing jewelry cleaner!

Diffusing // We have ditched candles in our house (aside from using as decoration or when we are entertaining) and love diffusing as a non-toxic option. Not only do oils smell so good, but they also support our bodies in other ways, like immune support & emotional support!! A few of my favorite diffuser blends for Spring are Citrus Fresh + Grapefruit, Geranium + Tangerine, or Lavender, Lemon + Peppermint!

Beauty // We are over dry winter skin & love the way that oils are an all natural way to help moisturize & rejuvenate. Each night I use my favorite Glow Serum which is 20 drops Frankincense, 20 drops Copaiba, 10 drops Geranium & topped with Jojoba Oil as the carrier. I has done wonders for my skin & I absolutely love the way it smells!! I also use Lavender Oil + Castor Oil on my lashes, and a lip scrub (equal parts white sugar + coconut oil with 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil) ever few days as an exfoliator for my lips.

Sleep // This is definitely something we do year round, but my favorite sleep blend just smells like Spring so it feels like it should be included!! I loooove falling asleep to 3 drops each Lavender, Frankincense and Tangerine. Sahhhhweeeeet dreams!!!!

DIYs  // Keep your flowers fresh with 2-3 drops Purification in your vase of water. Add a drop of Purification to a cotton ball to get rid of odors (in bottom of trash can, diaper pails, shoe closet, etc.). Add a few drops of Lavender to wool dryer balls in place of dryer sheets to keep laundry fresh & smelling amazing. And a few drops of Peppermint + Lavender added to a small spray bottle with water + a splash of witch hazel will help keep all the ants away when eating on your patio. And

Is thieves cleaner a separate product or is it made from thieves essential oil? I want to order and make sure I get all the right things!

Thieves cleaner is a separate product, it is a concentrated bottle that makes 30 16oz. spray bottles! 🙂

For your glow serum – what do you put it in? A rollerball? And do you put it over your entire face after you wash? My frank is super thick so won’t drip out – do you have a rough idea of how much 20 drops is? – 1/4 tsp? Thanks

Thanks for this!! For diffusing, how much water do you use in proportion to your suggested drop amounts?

Each diffuser has a “fill line” to show you how much water to add 🙂

Impulsively painted this little powder/laundry roo Impulsively painted this little powder/laundry room green and I’m obsessed. Sacrificed just one sweatshirt and my favorite pair of socks because I was way too lazy to change into painting clothes but overall: worth it. Also don’t look too close, 100 year old plaster walls are the opposite of smooth. On the hunt for some fun art next!! Swipe for before and afters 🖤
