Outdoor Entertaining with Target

We love summer entertaining & will never turn down an excuse to have friends over for dinner and drinks. This past weekend, we had some of our neighbors over for a little modern fiesta style dinner after the kids were in bed, we served up some fish tacos, peach mango salsa, fresh watermelon & our favorite frozen margaritas.

So today we are partnering with Target to share a little outdoor entertaining inspiration, along with five quick tips for throwing together an easy summer get together!
1. Lanterns // Grouping a few lanterns together is an easy, but beautiful centerpiece. I love that most lanterns come in a few different sizes so you can get smaller ones for the table & larger ones to put on the ground to pull the look together. Add a citronella candle to keep the bugs away!
2. Plastic Plates // Forget paper plates for your outdoor gathering, melamine plates are not only beautiful, but also practical, especially if you have kids!

3. Beverage Station // Frozen drinks are always a hit for summer gatherings, but an extra large drink dispenser (also plastic, no worrying about breakables around here!) is a great way to keep everyone hydrated & not having to go in & out to fill up their cups. Try a fruit infused water like lime + mint for something that both looks good & tastes good!
4. Creative Serving Trays // You don’t have to use your fancy serving platters to make things look great outside, grab non-traditional things like wood or marble cutting boards to serve food for a laid-back but still practical set up. For cold foods, keep that marble board in the fridge before bringing outside! 😉

5. Extra Seating // For only $10 each, you can pull in some simple white sand chairs to give guests extra seating areas that are quick & easy to move around. They look chic without breaking the bank!

This look was put together using a few neutral pieces with a “Modern Fiesta” in mind in collaboration with Rayan of The Design Confidential. We were challenged to pick out a few items for each other from Target to help style each others’ spaces as a backyard party exchange, so be sure to head over to her blog to see what I picked for her “Palm Springs Inspired BBQ”.
Happy summer partying!! XO

They also surprised US with an Easter egg hunt around the house with recycled Easter eggs filled with hand written notes and coupons to cash in for hugs, compliments, etc. How did we get here?! The girls could hardly sleep Saturday night bursting with excitement to host our friends & neighbors for donuts in the morning, they were up before the sun ready to start setting the tables & rolling dough.
