Claire’s Peachy First Birthday Party

Our sweet Georgia peach turned one this weekend & we had the best time celebrating her. As soon as Claire was born, I envisioned having a summery peach birthday party for her, and it was so much fun to plan. I think with each baby, and each birthday throughout the year, each party just get a little less elaborate, but we still love to make them so special in their own way. We loved getting to celebrate her with our friends & family.

We had a simple peach double layer cake (I used this recipe, but did white frosting instead) & cupcakes for dessert. I saw a tutorial for apple & heart shaped cupcakes on pinterest using a small piece of rolled up aluminum foil that you tuck between the cupcake paper & the cupcake pan to create a slightly different shape for the actual cupcake. I thought this could apply to the peach shape too, so I made the cupcakes this way, frosted them with a few layers of different colored peach frosting, added white sugar sprinkles & garnished with greenery (I asked the whole foods florist if they are okay to put on food, apparently they’re used for wedding cakes all the time). The cupcakes were my favorite part, served in a little wooden crate just like a box of peaches! We served lemonade & pink peach sangria made with Roscato wine, peach sparkling water, sliced white peaches & pears.

I asked my friend Hana of Hooray Everyday if she could make some peachy party goods for us, she whipped up the most festive peach felt garland & adorable necklaces for all of the girls. I just love them, they’re the cutest keepsake to remember the day!

The afternoon ended with a frosting-faced naps & outdoor baths in the sprinkler. It was the perfect celebration for Claire, sweet & laid back, just like her.

Happy first birthday Claire Vivien, we love you to the moon & back!

You should make a print in your shop of the top half of your chalkboard. I'd love to order a copy of that.

Sacrificed just one sweatshirt and my favorite pair of socks because I was way too lazy to change into painting clothes but overall: worth it. Also don’t look too close, 100 year old plaster walls are the opposite of smooth. On the hunt for some fun art next!! Swipe for before and afters 🖤
