Our Master Bath Plans + Inspiration

We are slowly making progress unpacking & decorating some of the rooms in the house, it’s actually been much more of a work in progress than I thought. We decided not to take on any other major projects until the kitchen is finished, but next up on the list will be our master bathroom! There was another room in the house that we almost used as a master, I loved the sky lights & space, but ultimately we realized the full bathroom & bigger closets trumped everything.  I thought I would share a few pictures of our current master bathroom along with some inspiration that I am loving!
Runner // Dip-Dyed Stool

This bathroom has come a long way since the first time we saw it. Last Fall when it was foreclosed, it was a total wreck, it had wallpaper & dark floor tiles, and an old shower that is now one of the closets. I sometimes look back and can’t believe we were going to try to take that on ourselves! I am thankful that things worked out as they did, the investors that then bought the house did a total gut job & remodel, and we are pretty thankful for this space in its current state.

The bathroom really is in great shape, so we aren’t going to spend a lot of time or money on it.  It’s not necessarily my style, I would have loved to see different tile, especially in the shower, but we will work with what we have! I do LOVE the tub, maybe one of these days I will actually get to use it! Our plans for now are to replace the tub faucet (this one is so modern, it reminds me of Wall-E), paint the walls, replace some of the trim around the doors, update knobs & hinges with bronze, update the light fixtures & mirrors, and add lots of fun personal touches to give it some character. I would love to add shiplap or a brick wall treatment to the walls surrounding the tub! We ordered a plantation shutter for the large window, I love all of the light in this room & it gets the best sunset views in the evenings.

I thought I would share a few of my favorite bath spaces, I am soaking up lots of inspiration from these & can’t wait to get to work on ours!!

Ah that tub is to die for! We are going to be waking into a nice mint green sink, shower and toilet in our new house. No master bath but looking forward to having two bathrooms as opposed to one in our current home!! Loving all of this inspiration 🙂

Go for something rustic, think pine cones, birch trees, pussy willow, pheasant feathers with neutral stone wall paint and patina color palette accents: turquoise, copper, gold, bronze

I'm loving that first look, I already had it in my mine to ask you where you found those gold mirrors before I finished the post!

That's frustrating that it's a new bathroom but not exactly your style, I had that feeling while looking at homes for sale. But it really is a gorgeous bathroom and luckily everything is pretty neutral, with your amazing sense of style I'm sure you'll be able to transform it into your perfect space 🙂 Your inspiration picture where the bath tub is in the shower… genius! Can't wait to see the finished pictures!

I was wondering what the hell that thing was to the left of the tub. THAT is a faucet? I can't quite wrap my mind around how it works. Perhaps you could do a demo on SnapChat? It is so skinny and looks portable and not fixed to the floor. I love the tile flooring in your bathroom now. Classic and clean looking. I can't wait to see the changes that you make.

Awesome bathroom and with the Garvin touch, it will be perfect! I see that right now, you have drawers in the bathroom vanity, I am curious to know/see how you organize them. I like the drawers option but mine always end up being a mess!

I like the bathroom as it is right now! Wouldn't really change much. Maybe a few accessories here and there but that's all. Love how bright it is.

I had to go back and look for the faucet – I thought it was an umbrella stand! That tub is amazing!

I think the brick is a little bit too heavy for the marbled look that bathroom already has. I LOVE the idea of shiplap and think it will give you just the right amount of texture that you need. Even though I love white in bathrooms, I think painting your vanity (black or another fun color) and doing more ornate mirrors above each sink will give it a perfect look. Totally agree with you on the tub faucet, it has to go! Can't wait to see what you do in this space!
