Oh Christmas Tree

This is easily our favorite weekend of the year, full of leftovers, naps & all the festive happenings you can imagine. We woke up the day after Thanksgiving with Christmas in our hearts and music playing through the house. We couldn’t wait to get out the door and on our way to the “tree pharmacy” as the girls called it. We spotted our tree right away, and the girls were just beside themselves seeing it get strapped to the top of the car. We love having a real tree, mess and all, it is totally worth it to have the experience (and smell) of the season.

The girls helped Brandon trim it and get it all set up, then Harper helped me do most of the lights and garland while the little ones napped. Once Eloise & Claire joined in on the festivities, we learned right away that by the end of the season, all of our ornaments will either end up in 1. the toilet 2. the toy box or 3. the fireplace.

There is really just nothing better than kids experiencing the magic of Christmas right before your eyes. Claire completely loses it every time she sees the tree light up, she starts speaking total jibberish and pointing at it with her tiny little finger. She also loves to pick up random objects from around the house and proudly place them in the tree. Christmas can stay forever around here, we are loving it more than ever.

Hope you all had the most wonderful weekend with your family & friends!!!! So much to be thankful & excited about this time of year. XO

PS. I found our Christmas tree basket last year after Christmas (similar here!), our stockings are from Anthropologie and my pajamas shown in my Instagram photo are also from two years ago, but you can find similar items and a lot of other sources in the links below! 🙂 Hope this is helpful!! Let me know if there is an easier way for me to link items & similar items for you to find.

I love your garland and have been searching for something like it. Two questions, 1) How many feet of garland do you use on your tree? I’ve read 8′-10′ per foot of tree height but that seems like a lot! 2) Where is yours from? I’ve had luck on Etsy but wonder if you have another source that might be more economical, especially if I need to buy 80′!

    Thanks!

I wanted to know where the garland was from too, so I did some searching. It looks like it is from West Elm but they don’t carry them anymore, *sigh*.
