Minted Holiday Cards + Giveaway

It’s that time of year again! I love Christmas card season!!! I’m a last minute person with almost everything, and although I start scrolling through beautiful holiday cards at Minted on November first every year, it usually takes me up until the very week of Christmas to have our cards in hand and ready to send out. Run, run, Rudolph!!

This year we are teaming up again with our amazing friends at Minted to giveaway a $250 credit for holiday cards!!! It’s never too late friends, their selection of New Year cards are SO amazing & would be such a fun way to send some holiday cheer!

This year we went with a traditional Merry Christmas message, but did a fun shape & I am attaching little bakers twine knots to them! And if you get one in the mail from us that is covered in crayon drawings of Christmas trees or stick people (with beards), that’s just Harper’s way of saying hello! 😉

Enter by leaving a comment below telling us what cards you would send, some belated Christmas cards, New Years or maybe even Valentine’s?! I love sending fun snail mail in February! Winner will be announced on my Instagram @jlgarvin tomorrow at 12pm EST.

Five more sleeps til Christmas! XO

I’m actually starting to think about my son’s first birthday and have been thinking about splurging on minted invites. There is a cactus print one that I’m thinking might fit his “first fiesta” theme perfectly. There’s something about stationary and sending snail mail that I just love!!

I would send Valentine’s Day Cards to everyone. Valentine’s Day is usually a day spent with your significant other, but why not switch things up a bit and send your family and friends Valentines Day cards to let them know that you love them and you’re thinking about them, even after that holidays. It can be a new tradition, rather than sending holiday cards once a year around Christmas time.

And here’s another thought, Easter/Spring Cards are nice especially with a pop of color or a floral design.

I already sent my Christmas cards this year but if I won the giveaway I would gift it to my brother and sister-in-law for a Valentine’s Day card. Long story long, they sadly had a miscarriage the week before Thanksgiving and we did family pictures the Sunday after and they didn’t share with us until a few days later they had a miscarriage. So they chose not to send Christmas cards this year because of the painful memory of the miscarriage around the time of the family photos. They mentioned a Valentine’s Day card the other day which I think is a great fun way to add some joy into other months of the year. #mintedgiveaway 🙂

I would absolutely send some belated Christmas cards or maybe even Happy New Year cards! Better late than never, right?! Hah! My hubbs works long hours, so it has been hard to nail down a time for actual family photos (?), but it’s so crucial that we do them, especially with the addition of our son this year!

Anyway, I’d probably send out apology cards. My husband bought a groupon for some no-name stationery company so I wouldn’t spend so much on Christmas cards this year. Let me tell you, they’re pretty terrible, but it was too late to reorder something prettier, so here we are, hoping people will like our cute family picture and not notice the glossy photo paper and fuzzy text on them.

Your Christmas cards (and family) are the cutest! … This is the first year my fiancé and I sent out Christmas cards. We used a photo from our engagement session of us bundled in a blanket. Also, this was my first time using minted! I loved that they sent a proof for us to approve prior to printing, and the self-addressing feature was truly a time saver! … Love the designs and ease of minted so much that I have my eye of a few “save the date” postcards that I would LOVE to send to family and friends (for our upcoming wedding in September)!

She is getting married in the summer of 2017 and she could either create her “save the date” cards or maybe even use the money towards her wedding invitations. Love your blog Jessica!! I feel like I’m commenting in the wrong spot because there are not any other comments yet, but I declared that I’m going to opt for New Years cards since 4 years ago. Every year starting then my Christmas cards came after Christmas (last year my “on-time” Christmas cards were denied by the husband bc I was in such a hurry I put the wrong picture on the card lol… and by the time the new version came it was Christmas Eve). I casually send them here and there after Christmas when they are late – family & friends always get a kick out of it (except for my grandparents, they just don’t get it and think I forget about them initially).

Thank you cards or personalized stationery….I always buy random thank you notecards with the intention of sending them and then they sit in the drawer or on my desk….with my two little ones as an excuse. This year I vow to really send them. With my mother-in-law unexpectedly becoming injured and placed in hospice this week I really got the swift kick in the butt I needed to act and really send thoughtful and meaningful notes to my friends and family. Sorry for the somber tone, it is still the Christmas season and we have so much to CELEBRATE!!!!

So I don’t particularly send cards but I do give them. I have been a high school English teacher for 9 years and every year I have written heartfelt and personalized cards to each one of my students. When I first started teaching, I was in a lower socioeconomic area and a lot of my students just needed someone to believe in them and I made sure they knew I had their backs. It has become a special tradition of mine. No two cards are alike and no years have the same cards. So it would help to have personalized cards this year. 200 cards gets a little pricey

Birthday invites would be a cool idea as well. Or, we might be moving so new address notices would be a great way to get a family photo, a photo of our new home and inform people of our new address!
