Kindergarten + Second Grade

It was back to school week over here for Harper and Eloise & we are happy to report that it went so well!! The big girls are super excited to be going to school together!!!

It is bittersweet for us that Summer has come to an end. We loved our Summer together, being lazy and sleeping in and doing whatever we wanted every single day. This was also our first full Summer living in this house, last year it was still a renovation zone and we spent lots of time traveling & staying with family while our kitchen was out of commission. We have really fallen even more in love with Kansas City over the last few months & are looking forward to all of the excitement that Fall will bring!

^ The girls learned the handshake from The Parent Trap and are obsessed with doing it all the time.

I shared on Instagram a little bit about our motto for the school year, “Be Kind. Be Brave. Be Yourself.” In a world filled with so much negativity & hate, I think it’s more important than ever to teach this to our children and give them something tangible they can hold onto as they go out into this world. I hope you guys will join me in spreading this message of positivity to our kiddos!!!

To all of you who have little ones going back to school, I hope your transition is smooth & as tear free as possible. Cheers friends, as always, thank you for reading!!! We are forever grateful that you choose to be a part of our community! XO

I am thankful I have a few more weeks before I have to send my littles to school. We have 2nd and kinder coming up too and preschool a couple times a week. I don’t know how I am going to manage having no littles at home a few hours a week!!!!

Last year and again this year, I tell my girl as I’m dropping her off, “Be Kind. Be Strong.”

I love the “be kind, be brave, be you” motto! I’ll have to let my kids know about that one 🙂

Easter 2023 🐰 Would like to point out that I di Easter 2023 🐰 Would like to point out that I didn’t find them any cute matching pajamas this year but they took it upon themselves to find some in their closets & dressed accordingly. They also surprised US with an Easter egg hunt around the house with recycled Easter eggs filled with hand written notes and coupons to cash in for hugs, compliments, etc. How did we get here?! The girls could hardly sleep Saturday night bursting with excitement to host our friends & neighbors for donuts in the morning, they were up before the sun ready to start setting the tables & rolling dough. For everyone reading this with babies & toddlers, just know that all of those sweet traditions you are creating will make a home in their hearts, and one day they’ll be the ones making the magic for you. 🤍🤍🤍
